It celebrates women over the age of 40 and invites them to share their experiences and connect with other members of the magazine. Laura Guttridge has achieved great success in modeling, and was a United States finalist of the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Pageant in 1991. In the year 1998, she was also crowned Miss Budweiser. She has also appeared on numerous calendars, swimsuit posters, and magazines.

Guttridge is the co-host of a popular TV/Internet talk show called Dr. Josefina’s Way. The show is hosted by Dr. Josephina, and is aimed at encouraging people to live a healthy, productive, and passionate life.

Besides Dr. Josefina’s Way, Guttridge has appeared in a number of national TV shows including “Inside Edition”, “Renegade”, “Silk Stalkings”, and “Current Affair”.

Currently, Laura Guttridge is a well known animal rights activist who works for the protection of animals. She was also the Co/founder of Marion County Voices For Animals, a small animal rights group in Ocala, Florida where she served as its past president. The group worked for promoting the rights, and protection of animals.

Laura Guttridge participated in the promotion of PETA’S Vegetarian Starter Kit. The kit includes a wide range of recipes, and a complete guide on how to become a vegetarian. She encourages people to adapt to a vegetarian diet. She believes that a meat-free diet not only benefits the animals, but it also benefits our own health, and the health of the planet.

Laura Guttridge has also written a book titled “Gypsy the Christmas Cat”. The story was inspired from a real life cat named Gypsy that she rescued many years ago. The book encourages children to love and respect animals.

LAURA GUTTRIDGE: A VOICE FOR ANIMALS

Laura Guttridge, is a former swimsuit model, and animal right activist who has participated in countless demonstrations against the exploitation of animals. She has been fighting for the rights of animals since she was a child.

Animal Activist Laura Guttridge, was the founder of a small animal rights group called Marion County Voices for Animals, in Ocala Florida. The group convinced the Marion County Animal Shelter to stop using the outdated decompression chamber for killing unwanted animals, and switch to the more humane lethal injection.

She is also a member of the board of directors for The Animal Rights Foundation of Florida, an animal rights organization that promotes the rights, and ethical treatment of animals.

Laura Guttridge studied philosophy at The University of Central Florida and her work as a student is published in the university library. As an Author, Laura Guttridge has written a book titled “Gypsy the Christmas Cat”, which is based on the story of a real life cat named Gypsy. The book inspires children to love, respect, and nurture animals. The delightful holiday tale was published by The Strategic Book Group, and is available on various online stores.

Laura Guttridge Encourages a Vegan Lifestyle.

Laura Guttridge encourages people to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle, for not only the animals, but for their own health, and the health of the planet as well.  She has also participa

ted in the promotion of PETA’S Vegetarian Starter Kit. At the 20th Gala for The Animal Rights Foundation of Florida, she promoted a vegetarian lifestyle by modeling as one of the “lettuce ladies.” The event was attended by celebrities such as Pamela Anderson and was hosted by Bob Barker.

Her dedication for protecting the rights of animals is evident from the fact that she has been arrested on two different occasions during protests to protect animals. The first time she was arrested while protesting against Florida’s Annual Youth Deer Hunt in the Ocala National Forest, and the second time for being a part of an anti-fur protest held by San Diego Animal Advocates.

For her selfless contributions for the protection of animals, Laura Guttridge was honored with The 2007 Humanitarian of the Year Award by the Humane Society of Vero Beach.

LAURA: A POPULAR ANIMAL ACTIVIST AND AUTHOR

Laura Guttridge, a former swimsuit model who studied philosophy at The University of Central Florida is now a popular animal activist. She has raised her voice against animal activism and currently, she is a part of various animal activism programs and promotes prevention of cruelty and suffering to animals. For organizing campaigns for the protection and proper treatment of animals, Guttridge has been awarded The 2007 Humanitarian of the Year Award by the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County.

Guttridge’s journey as an activist started from childhood days

 

  • Her journey as an animal activist started from her childhood days. Even as a kid she used to love and protect the animals.  She believes in compassion, care and respect for animals and dedicated to change the way animals are treated by humans.
  • She also advocates a vegan diet as it not only contributes to the animals, but also to the health and safety of the planet. Guttridge is a member of boards of directors for The Animal Rights Foundation of Florida since 1998.
  • She participates in various campaigns against the mistreatment of animals and promotes the adoption of animals from shelters and not from pet stores or breeders.  

For carrying out protests she has been arrested twice: First time when she was protesting against the annual youth deer hunt in the Ocala National Forest and second time for her involvement in an anti-fur protest, which was organized by San Diego Animal Advocates.

Guttridge, a vegan herself, advocates that meat is destructive for the body. However, a vegan diet helps you to stay healthy and fit by reducing the health-risks and diseases that are associated with the consumption of meat and other animal products.  She encourages people to go on a vegetarian/ vegan diet, not only for the animals, but for the themselves.

In 2009 she was asked to promote a vegan diet at the glitzy 20th Gala for The Animal Rights Foundation of Florida by handing out literature, and talking to it’s high profile guest list. The event was attended by many famous celebrities including Pamela Anderson, and was hosted by Bob Barker. Other significant achievements of Guttridge include a ballot initiative in 2002 where Guttridge was the top signature collector, which helped in the successful banning of the confinement of pigs on factory farms in Florida. GypsyTheChristmasCat

Based on her a real life experience, she Laura Guttridge has written a book titled “Gypsy the Christmas Cat”.  Her husband, Bobby Guttridge inspired her to write this book. It teaches children to show kindness, love and respect to animals. It’s easily available at different online book stores, and your children will love this delightful Christmas tale. She is also a  co-host for an online program called Dr. Josefina’s Way.
